About Dayve: Musician, Teacher, Dad
Musician
After seeing the Beatles live, I knew what I wanted to do with my life and set off to achieve that dream—playing in many bands, covering many different styles of music.
I started performing at school dances and coffee houses in the 1960s. The 70s brought clubs, hotel bars, restaurants, and recording studios as I toured the country.
The 80s and a move to Vermont brought ski areas around Killington and Stowe into the mix. I eventually made my way to Burlington, where I was a staple at local restaurants, wedding venues, and private parties.
Throughout my career, I’ve focused on writing and recording original music (check out my albums). I eventually based myself in Bristol, Vermont, where I combined my performing with my teaching…
Teacher
I’ve always had a passion for teaching folks of all ages—but especially children. My approach is to embrace each student where they are and teach them the music they want to play! From the 5 year old who wants to learn “Happy Birthday”, to the 60 year old who dreams of playing “Here Comes The Sun” and everything in between.
I’ve taught through local music centers throughout Vermont and am now doing the same in the Kansas City area.
Dad
Becoming a dad in 1982 rounded out my identity. My 3 children and 5 grandchildren are an inspiration for all I do and they have helped me become a better teacher.
Currently:
I teach guitar and ukulele lessons (remote & in-person) for students of all ages.
I’m available for hire for weddings and events of any kind.
I have 13 recordings to date, and I’m working on my next project now.
