Guitarist and Teacher Based in Kansas City
Born in Kansas City, I began playing the guitar at the age of 12 after seeing the Beatles play on the Ed Sullivan Show. After seeing them live in Kansas City, that was it!
After seeing that, I knew what I wanted to do with my life and set off to achieve that dream – playing in many bands, covering many different styles of music.
I went on the road in 1977 and traveled from Oregon to Maine playing music all the way. Since 1980 I’ve been in Vermont, and have been fortunate enough to actually make a living teaching guitar and ukulele and performing.
In 2023, I relocated back to Kansas City where I continue doing what I love…. performing, teaching and composing original music. And I still return to work in Vermont from time to time!
I teach people how to work this thing called a 'guitar' and they give me money. Then I play the guitar while people eat or drink or get married and they even listen sometimes. And pay me again. I work in heaven!
